Alaska Mission Day 3

After a last-minute update the night before, breakfast was shifted. Everyone was up and eating by 7am, followed by the daily “mood-setting” meeting. After this, the team headed to the Compass. Everyone split into groups to assist with the art camp classes, painting the mural, and building canvases and easels for the space.

On the first day of the art camp, students completed the background for their piece with inks, sketched the animal chosen, and began the collage. The camp was four hours and students attending took periodic snack breaks where the team was able to pour into and interact with the kids.
After the art camp was completed, everyone returned to the Lighthouse for lunch together then returned to the Compass. The team continued working on the various projects until dinner when they joined together for tacos and a wonderful time of fellowship.
In the evening the team split into groups, one to stay back and clean spaces in the church and one to return to work on projects before returning for the night.
Overall, the day was very successful with very minor mishaps. Please continue in prayer for these students to be positively impacted and for the team to be in good health.
