The day started with breakfast and a team meeting before we headed over to the Compass. Eric has been sharing messages with the kids during the art camp and the lessons being taught have been centered around God as Creator.
Today the kids added more layers to their pieces and completed the finishing touches. In the afternoon, after lunch, the team split up to complete various tasks, building two large easels that the Compass will use in their new art room and finishing building & painting frames for the mural.
After the work at the Compass was complete for the day everyone met for dinner, which included locally caught salmon. The team then embarked on a fishing trip on the beach and although no fish were caught there was great fellowship and laughter while enjoying the beautiful weather and view.
The evening ended late and as people prepared for bed, a small group was scouting the location for tomorrow’s “painting on the beach” and saw two moose.
Please pray for tomorrow as we will be hosting a community event at the Compass and hope to impact not only the youth but the families of Nikiski and the surrounding areas as well.
